Job summary

Orica is seeking an experienced Shotfirer to lead blasting operations at our Railton site. You will own the full blast cycle, from preparation through to execution, ensuring safety and quality standards while guiding on-site crews and coordinating with operators and client representatives.

The role requires a TAS Shotfirer ticket (or equivalent), a strong safety mindset, and proven leadership in quarrying, mining or heavy industry; strong communication and customer focus are essential for

Qualifications

• Current TAS Shotfirer ticket or equivalent (essential).
• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures.
• Experience in quarrying, mining or heavy industry.
• Leadership capability and confidence under pressure.
• Solid communication skills and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute safe, compliant blasting activities;
• Manage crews during blast events and coordinate on-site operations;
• Conduct pre-blast checks and toolbox talks;
• Maintain strong customer relationships and support production targets;
• Complete post-blast reporting and ensure accurate records.
