Job summary

Ferrovial is seeking a Senior Survey Engineer to lead survey activities for a major highway corridor in Sydney. You will supervise field crews, manage ORD/Bentley workflows, and ensure quality control of survey data for Master quantities and pay estimates.

The role requires hands-on expertise with robotic total stations, GNSS, 3D laser scanning, and UAV surveys, plus collaboration with BIM, design, and project controls teams. A strong background in highway or bridge projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of progressive survey experience in heavy civil, highway or bridge construction.
• Expert-level ORD for corridor modeling, alignments and surfaces.
• Expert-level TBC for data processing and volumetrics.
• Hands-on with robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS, 3D laser scanning, and UAS surveying.
• Experience producing monthly production and quantity measurements reconciled with Master pay-quantity or SOV.
• Strong understanding of control networks, datums and state plane/geodetic datums.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise survey crews and field technicians on the segment.
• Establish and verify horizontal/vertical control networks linked to Master control.
• Own the 3D design model interface using ORD, coordinating with BIM teams.
• Process and QA/QC field survey data with TBC, GNSS and laser data.
• Prepare monthly production and quantity measurements tied to project pay estimates.
• Operate and manage RTK/GNSS, 3D laser scanning and drone photogrammetry for progress verification.
• Support GPS/GNSS machine-control data for grading and earthwork.
• Produce as-built records, DTMs and topographic surfaces.
• Coordinate with TDOT-survey requirements and project QA/QC standards.
• Train and mentor survey technicians within the segment.
• Plan drone flights for progress docs and stockpile volumes.
