Job summary

Enemix is seeking a Lead Secondary Engineer to join its Transmission & Distribution team in Australia. You will design and deliver advanced Substation Secondary systems up to 500 kV, guiding project delivery with a focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with civil, structural, and electrical teams, engage with regional clients, and support proposal development while upholding quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• HV secondary substation design experience with project delivery.
• Experience leading design teams including Global Delivery Centres.
• Strong client-facing communication and technical leadership.

Overview

Are you ready to shape the future of energy infrastructure? Our client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Secondary Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and delivering innovative, sustainable, and carbon-neutral solutions for substation projects. Your expertise will drive the successful planning, design, and execution of substation infrastructure, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Secondary Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering advanced Substation Secondary systems for distribution and transmission networks (up to 500kV).
• Ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance procedures and technical standards.
• Leading and managing engineering projects within defined scopes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and primary electrical engineers.
• Contributing to proposal development, including scope definition and cost estimation.
• Engaging with regional clients, providing expert technical advice, and supporting business growth.
• Mentoring and developing junior engineers to enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications

Our client are seeking a candidate who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation. To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
• Proven experience in High Voltage Secondary Substation design and project delivery (experience with Transgrid projects is highly desirable).
• A strong track record of serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
• Demonstrated capability in managing and providing technical leadership to design teams, including Global Delivery Centres.
• Experience in managing design projects in compliance with quality management systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
