Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking a principal engineer to lead road infrastructure projects across maintenance, rehabilitation and safety improvements. You will own project delivery, provide high-level engineering advice, manage contracts and tenders, and lead technical resources to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires RPEQ registration and a Civil Engineering degree accredited under the Washington Accord, with experience in design/construction of civil road projects and contract

Qualifications

• Experience managing design/construction of civil infra projects, roads preferred.
• Ability to lead engineering teams and mentor staff.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of road infrastructure projects through lifecycle within scope, budget and time.
• Oversee tendering, procurement, contract administration and contractor performance.
• Provide high-level engineering advice on design options, construction methodologies and materials.
• Monitor progress, expenditure and forecasts with regular reporting.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legislation, environment and quality controls.
• Supervise and coordinate resources, mentor graduates and engineers.
• Engage with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to build strong relationships.
• Promote safety culture and coordinate works with Road Operations to minimize disruption.
