Job summary

Public Sector People are seeking a Design Engineer (Roads) in Sydney for a local government project. You will survey, design, and review plans for road and drainage schemes, including traffic facilities and carparks.

The role involves stakeholder meetings and collaboration with public authorities, private organisations, and communities to shape civil designs. Initial contract is 6 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or related field (minimum 5 years experience).
• 12D skills and AutoCAD experience for road and drainage design.

Responsibilities

• Survey, investigate, prepare and review design plans, estimates and options for roads, kerb and gutter, footpaths, stormwater drainage, traffic facilities and carparks.
• Negotiate and attend meetings with authorities, private organisations, property owners and community groups on design activities.
• Carry out civil design for road and traffic assets and review external civil designs.

Contract length

Initial 6 months with view to extend

Pay rate

$85 p/h + Super

• Survey, investigate, prepare and review design plans, estimates and alternate options for a variety of civil engineering projects including road, kerb and gutter, footpath, stormwater drainage, traffic facilities and carparks
• Negotiate and attend meetings with public utility authorities, government authorities, private organisations, property owners, community groups and others regarding a wide range of design activities
• Carry out civil design for road and traffic assets, and review external civil designs.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in civil engineering or related field with minimum 5 years experience
• 12D skills, AutoCAD experience in road and drainage design
• Significant post qualification experience in survey, investigation and design including
• estimates for roads, traffic facilities, stormwater drainage and other civil engineering projects
• Current class C driver’s license
