Job summary

UTS in Sydney is seeking a leader to head the Research Translation and IP team within the Research Office. You will coordinate translation pathways, advise researchers on IP, and drive practical outcomes across commercial and non-commercial domains.

The role requires a postgraduate qualification, strong stakeholder engagement, and experience in research translation or IP advisory. The position is full-time in Sydney with a competitive base salary and 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience in research translation or IP advisory roles.
• Experience engaging stakeholders and building partnerships.
• Experience delivering training or capability development (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of the research translation team and support consistent and proactive service delivery.
• Provide advice and guidance to researchers on intellectual property, pathways for end-user focused translation including commercialisation and refer to specialist staff as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support translation outcomes and partnering opportunities.
• Monitor and review translation activities and contribute to ongoing improvement of approaches.
• Maintain knowledge of research translation, intellectual property and commercialisation practices and trends.
• Deliver training and capability building to uplift researcher understanding, skills and capability in relation to intellectual property and research translation.
