Job summary

UTS in Sydney invites applications for the Consultancies and Research Projects Senior Officer to support consultancy and research initiatives across the university.

You will provide expert advice on risk, costing, pricing, budgeting and development of practical resources, while working closely with researchers, faculties and professional teams to strengthen capability and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of consulting, knowledge exchange and commercialisation in a university or research-intensive environment.
• Knowledge of project planning, costing, risk management and the research lifecycle, with the ability to interpret policy, provide sound advice and proactively solve problems.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver practical outcomes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and other digital collaboration tools.
• Experience working in a university or research-intensive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support for consultancies and other commercial knowledge exchange activities that apply UTS research-generated knowledge.
• Advising on project risk, costing, pricing and budget development.
• Developing and delivering resources, guidance, training and education to support consultancy and research projects activities.
• Monitoring consultancy and research projects performance; review policies, procedures and systems; and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Working collaboratively across the university to deliver coordinated support and maximise opportunities.
• Supporting relevant committees and working groups, and contribute to broader Research Office priorities as required.
