Job summary

Libraries & Archives NT in Darwin, NT invites applications for a Reference Services Coordinator. You will lead the reference services team delivering high quality reference and access services to the public and NT Government agencies across extensive library and archival collections.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in a field relevant to research, archives or libraries, enabling admission to ALIA or ASA or equivalent.
• Demonstrated high level experience delivering reference and access services in an archives, library or cultural collections environment.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply complex policies and legislation to individual cases and client enquiries.
• High level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear advice, document decisions and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the legislative and policy frameworks governing information management, access and privacy.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to provide guidance and mentoring to other staff.
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal people.

Responsibilities

• Lead the reference services team to provide a high quality reference service to members of the public and NT Government agencies across LANT’s extensive collections.
• Oversee access services across the full range of library and archival materials.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation and liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliant service delivery.
