Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking an exceptional Lead Project Manager to deliver major water infrastructure within the EGIP program. You will lead planning, procurement and delivery of capital works, guiding cross-functional teams and ensuring safe, compliant delivery aligned with Council's framework.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, prepare business cases and reports, and mentor project professionals to drive high-quality outcomes for the Toowoomba region.

Qualifications

  • You are a highly capable project leader with experience delivering significant infrastructure, utilities, water, construction or capital works projects.
  • You have a strong understanding of project governance, contract management and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to lead teams in complex environments.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline; RPEQ registration or ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure or capital works projects.
  • Strong commercial, contract management and procurement experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to safety and achieving high-quality outcomes.

LEADONE OF REGIONAL QUEENSLAND'S LARGEST WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMSAND SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE TOOWOOMBA REGION

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking an exceptional LeadProject Manager to lead the delivery of major waterinfrastructure projects as part of the $300 million Enabling GrowthInfrastructure Program (EGIP).

This transformational program represents one of the mostsignificant investments in water infrastructure across theToowoomba Region and will play a vital role in supporting futuregrowth, water security and community resilience.

Reporting to the Program Director – Enabling GrowthInfrastructure Program, this position will provide leadershipacross several strategically important projects, including theSouthern Water Treatment Plant, Mt Peel Reservoir andassociated water network infrastructure. The role willalso oversee a team of experienced engineering and projectprofessionals responsible for planning, approvals, compliance andproject delivery.

The Opportunity

As Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading theplanning, procurement and delivery of major capital works projects,ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently and inaccordance with Council's Project Management Framework and programobjectives.

Working closely with senior leaders, contractors, consultants,regulators and stakeholders, you will provide both technical andcommercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of infrastructureprojects.

Key responsibilities include:

About You

To be successful, you will bring:
