Qualifications

  • Experience in wastewater treatment, pumping and distribution systems.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience interpreting operational data through SCADA and reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support operational teams across multiple wastewater facilities.
  • Coordinate wastewater treatment, pumping and distribution activities.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Environmental Authorities and Site Based Management Plans.
  • Drive operational improvements and performance reporting.
  • Provide technical leadership and expert advice on wastewater operations.
  • Monitor plant performance through SCADA systems and data analysis.
  • Manage operational budgets and resource allocation.
  • Support the ongoing development and capability of operational staff.

LEADTHE DELIVERY OF ESSENTIAL WASTEWATER SERVICES ACROSS THE TOOWOOMBAREGION

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking an experienced andmotivated Coordinator Wastewater Operations tolead a skilled team responsible for the operation of theWetalla Water Reclamation Facility, Wetalla Advanced WaterTreatment Plant, Yarraman and Crows Nest Wastewater TreatmentPlants, and associated wastewater pumping station networks.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone whois passionate about operational excellence, environmentalcompliance, continuous improvement, and developinghigh-performing teams.

About the Role

As the Coordinator Wastewater Operations, you will overseethe day-to-day operation of Council's central and northernwastewater treatment and pumping systems, ensuring reliableservice delivery, regulatory compliance, and optimal plantperformance.

You will:

  • Lead and support operational teams across multiplewastewater facilities.
  • Coordinate wastewater treatment, pumping anddistribution activities.

About You

You will be a collaborative and proactive leader withexperience in wastewater operations and a commitment to safety,environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, EnvironmentalStudies, Science, or a related field, or significantequivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in wastewater treatment,pumping and distribution systems.
  • Strong leadership, operational planning andproblem-solving skills.
  • Experience interpreting and analysing operational datathrough SCADA and reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagementskills.
  • A current Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence.
