The Victorian Government’s Department of Families, Fairness and Housing seeks a Managing Principal Solicitor to lead the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office. You will provide strategic legal guidance, supervise solicitors, and ensure high-quality, client-focused service across complex matters.

You will appear in a range of courts on behalf of the Secretary, collaborate with senior legal staff, and drive improvements in service delivery and client outcomes.

Qualificações

• Lead delivery of high-quality, client-focused and cost-effective legal services for highly complex and sensitive matters.
• Provide leadership and management to a team of employees, supporting them to reach potential and align with departmental values.
• Appear in litigation for the department across courts including the Children's Court of Victoria, the Supreme Court and VCAT.
• Advise the Secretary and collaborate with Senior Legal Counsel and the Executive team on strategic and operational planning.

Responsabilidades

• Manage highly complex cases and provide authoritative advice to child protection practitioners.
• Work with Senior Legal Counsel and the Executive team on long-term planning to improve legal services and client outcomes.
• Represent the department in litigation before courts and tribunals as required.
