Job summary

The Victorian Government - Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is seeking a Solicitor to support the Statewide CPLO in providing legal services for child protection. You will appear in the Children's Court and in related jurisdictions, such as VCAT, and travel to various locations as required.

You will work with a CPLO legal team, proactively managing litigation files under supervision, maintaining client liaison, and delivering well-reasoned legal advice, briefs, and correspondence.

Qualifications

• Provide well-reasoned legal advice and briefs on child protection matters.
• Appear in Children's Court and related jurisdictions such as VCAT.

Responsibilities

• Appear on behalf of the Secretary on child protection matters in the Children's Court and related jurisdictions, such as VCAT.
• Proactively manage allocated child protection litigation files with supervision, including client liaison and inter-party communication.
