Job summary

Built Living is seeking a Senior Precast Concrete Technologist to be the technical authority for concrete materials, mix design and QA within its precast operations in Western Australia. You will ensure stability, workability and producibility of concrete through the manufacturing cycle, achieving strength and architectural finishes.

Qualifications

• Concrete Technologist qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
• Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials or related field preferred.
• Extensive experience in highly engineered DfMA precast concrete façade manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of concrete technology, batching and production operations.
• Concrete rheology, mix design, admixtures, curing, durability, early strength and stripping.
• Experience establishing laboratory testing programmes and quality systems.
• Demonstrated success developing concrete mixes for workability, strength, colour and premium finishes.
• Hands-on factory experience and issue investigation/resolution.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate and optimise concrete mix designs for structural and architectural precast.
• Act as technical authority for cement systems, aggregates, admixtures and curing.
• Establish robust lab testing, QC, inspection and traceability aligned with standards.
• Optimise workability, rheology, early strength and surface finish quality.
• Own continuous improvement of architectural precast façade quality and standards.
• Develop and commercialise lower-carbon concrete solutions without compromising performance.
• Provide hands-on support during AMF commissioning and production trials.
• Mentor technical, quality and production personnel.
• Support commissioning and optimisation of batching, casting, curing systems.
• Implement lower-carbon concrete using alternative binders and recycled materials.
