Job summary

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a highly skilled Supervisor Plant and Mechanic Workshop to lead the plant and workshop maintenance across assets in the region. This permanent, full-time role is based at St Arnaud and offers stability within a dynamic local government environment.

You will coordinate maintenance schedules, manage a team, and work with external contractors when needed to ensure safe, efficient operations and timely delivery of services to the community.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Experience in plant and workshop maintenance.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake remedial actions from the plant daily inspection checklist/fault report.
• Estimate quantities of requisition materials as required.
• Undertake advanced maintenance on the plant and equipment including hydraulics.
• Supervise staff who will assist the Workshop and Stores Maintenance Officer.
