Job summary

Maribyrnong City Council in Melbourne's inner west is seeking an experienced Team Leader Parking to lead the Parking Enforcement team, improve safety and accessibility, and deliver community-focused outcomes.

This hands-on leadership role combines field supervision, rostering and operational planning. You will mentor Parking Officers, ensure fair enforcement, use data and feedback to refine services and participate in an after-hours on-call roster.

Qualifications

Experience leading field-based compliance, parking enforcement or regulatory services teams.
Knowledge of Victorian parking legislation and infringement processes.
Strong enforcement judgement focused on fairness and community outcomes.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Experience using enforcement technology and performance reporting.
Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) or related discipline, or substantial relevant experience.
A current Victorian driver's licence and the ability to obtain required authorisations.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop Parking Officers with clear performance expectations.
Coordinate rosters, deployment, and after-hours/weekend coverage.
Plan targeted patrols using data, occupancy, and local knowledge.
Undertake regular field patrols with coaching in complex operational situations.
Ensure enforcement activities and records comply with legislation and procedures.
Oversee escalated complaints and customer enquiries with timely responses.
Monitor outcomes and safety risks; identify opportunities to improve procedures and digital workflows.
Build relationships with Council teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
