Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd, Gruyere operations, seeks a Lead Mine Geologist to drive key geology projects that support safe, efficient open-pit production and resource growth. You will lead geological interpretation, orebody modelling, grade control and QAQC, supervise drilling programs, and collaborate with mining and technical services teams to optimise ore recovery on a FIFO Perth roster.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline.
Experience in open-pit mine geology, ideally within gold operations.
Strong capability in geological interpretation, grade control, mapping and ore mark-up.
Experience with QA/QC and geological data management.

Responsibilities

Lead mine geology projects supporting safe and efficient open-pit production outcomes.
Conduct geological interpretation, orebody modelling, and grade control activities.
Monitor and reconcile production performance against geological models.
Oversee grade control RC drilling from pattern design through to sampling and QAQC.
Plan, manage and supervise diamond drilling programs to deliver high-quality geological data.
Ensure QAQC protocols are maintained across sampling and geological data collection.
Collaborate with mining, planning, and technical services teams to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
