Job summary

Flinders University is seeking a Senior Lecturer for the Northern Territory Medical Program in Darwin. The role provides academic leadership across the Doctor of Medicine, driving excellence in teaching and learning within rural and remote health contexts.

You will lead innovative teaching initiatives, collaborate with health services and government partners, and shape curriculum to meet accreditation standards while improving student outcomes in the NT.

Qualifications

• Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), supported by extensive contemporary clinical experience.
• Proven track record of excellence in tertiary teaching, including design, delivery and evaluation of learning across classroom, clinical and simulation environments.
• Well-developed knowledge of contemporary medical education practices, with experience in curriculum development and improving student learning outcomes.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across education, healthcare and community sectors.

Responsibilities

• Providing academic leadership in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of medical education across the Doctor of Medicine program.
• Leading innovative teaching initiatives including clinical skills training, simulation-based learning and work-integrated learning.
• Building partnerships with health services, government agencies, community stakeholders and educational institutions to support workforce development in the NT.
• Driving curriculum development and educational best practice with a focus on rural, remote and Indigenous health, and contributing to accreditation and strategic priorities.
