Job summary

Motion Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter/Workshop Supervisor to lead and support our workshop team in fitting, maintenance and repairs of rotating equipment for diverse client sites.

You will coordinate labour, materials and daily priorities, ensure accurate scoping and documentation, promote a strong safety culture, and travel to customer sites as required. This role offers long-term career development and a competitive remuneration package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mechanical fitting, maintenance or workshop environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team in a workshop or maintenance setting.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Experience with equipment overhauls, bearing replacements, shaft alignment and fault-finding.
• Sound understanding of maintenance planning, job scheduling, labor allocation and materials management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• A demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and customers.
• Willingness to travel to work on customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the workshop team in completing fitting, maintenance and repair activities.
• Allocate and coordinate labour, materials and daily job priorities to minimise delays and costs.
• Supervise planned, unplanned and emerging maintenance work.
• Perform hands-on mechanical fitting duties, including equipment inspections, fault-finding, repairs and overhauls.
• Support repairs to pumps, mixers, bearings, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Ensure accurate job scoping, estimates, timeframes and maintenance documentation are completed.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is completed in line with Company health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist with team rostering, workflow planning and development of workshop personnel.
