Job summary

WSP's Adelaide Mining team is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary mining projects from concept through to execution, mentoring engineers and guiding delivery with a focus on safety and quality.

You’ll bring 13+ years of mechanical engineering experience, proven capability delivering mining or heavy industrial schemes, chartered status or working toward it, and strong client relationships to help grow our local and national practice.

Qualifications

• 13+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience delivering mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of sustaining capital and brownfield delivery.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design and project delivery activities.
• Provide technical direction and governance across project teams.
• Deliver studies, investigations, detailed design and asset improvement projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with mining clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop mechanical engineers across the team.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables.
• Support project planning, budgeting and commercial performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and process disciplines.
• Contribute to business development, proposals and client engagement activities.
