Job summary

Technical Resources is seeking a Principal Instrumentation Engineer to lead instrumentation and control design for a major industrial processing operation on a 12-month site-based contract. You will steer scopes, review documents, and drive commissioning activities within a multidisciplinary team.

You will mentor engineers, manage interfaces across operations, construction and procurement, and ensure safety-in-design principles are applied throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechatronic or related Engineering discipline.
• Eligibility for professional membership with a recognised engineering institution.
• Experience delivering instrumentation and control systems projects in mining, minerals processing, heavy industry, manufacturing or processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation engineering activities across brownfield and sustaining capital projects.
• Define project scopes and manage scope changes through project controls processes.
• Prepare and review technical documentation (datasheets, specifications, scopes of work, design calculations, work instructions, technical reports, drawings).
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Review technical submissions and participate in vendor and contractor evaluations.
• Monitor deliverables, budgets and project progress.
• Promote safety-in-design principles throughout project delivery.
• Mentor and support engineering team members.
