Job summary

HDR is seeking an Associate Hydraulic Engineer to join our National Building Engineering Services team, delivering complex hydraulic building services projects across Australia. Based in Sydney, you will lead design, provide technical oversight and mentor engineers while collaborating with clients, consultants and authorities.

You will drive design quality, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to business growth in a nationally connected hydraulic practice.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Mechanical, Civil, Hydraulic or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or progress towards chartership.
• Significant experience in hydraulic building services consulting.
• Experience delivering complete hydraulic design packages with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of hydraulic building services projects across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing design oversight and quality leadership.
• Undertake and review hydraulic engineering calculations and system design development.
• Design and deliver hydraulic services systems including potable water, sanitary drainage and stormwater.
• Drive project outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders.
• Resolve complex technical challenges while complying with codes and standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and authorities.
• Support project delivery activities including design reviews and inspections.
• Mentor and develop engineers within the hydraulic team.
