Job summary

AECOM in Sydney is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to lead delivery of technically complex hydraulic designs within our Building Engineering team. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers to deliver compliant and high-quality outcomes.

The role focuses on ownership of design and project delivery, with emphasis on NCC compliance and Australian Standards, while supporting business growth and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Hydraulic Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in building services or hydraulic engineering.
• Chartered status or working toward professional registration.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and hydraulic design software.
• Strong knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards, Fire and Rescue requirements, and local authority approvals processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic services design from concept to detailed execution.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documentation.
• Support project planning, coordination, and delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and building surveys.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
