Job summary

Katz Recruitment in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Service Technician to apply your HVAC skills to specialised cooling systems supporting critical environments, handling fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and commissioning. In this varied role you’ll perform hands-on service, work across call-outs and projects, provide clear reports, and train customers on equipment operation and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' industry experience.
• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARC Tick).
• Current driver's licence.
• Experience commissioning computer room air-conditioning units.
• Restricted Electrical Licence.
• White Card.
• Working at Heights qualification.
• Clear Police Check.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time management abilities.
• Confidence working autonomously and as part of a team.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Teams, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Attend service call-outs and diagnose and repair equipment faults
• Carry out preventative maintenance in line with operating and maintenance manuals
• Inspect project installations before commissioning
• Commission specialised air-conditioning equipment to meet tender specifications
• Complete service, maintenance and repair reports accurately and promptly
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
• Check pre-commissioning documentation before commencing work
• Provide training on equipment functionality and operation
• Assist with maintaining appropriate spare parts stock levels
• Coordinate regularly with office staff to support efficient service delivery
