Job summary

As a Mechanical Apprentice Master and Quality Officer, you work in City Fleet's workshop maintaining trucks, plant and specialised equipment that support essential Council services. You coach apprentices through practical tasks, assess their skills, provide feedback and help them build the knowledge needed to complete their trade.

You identify skill gaps, organise hands on training, monitor progress and maintain training and compliance records.

Qualifications

• Experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic capable of mentoring apprentices.
• Quality inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Knowledge of safety, manufacturer and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day training and development of apprentice mechanics.
• Diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles, carry out quality inspections.
• Conduct workshop audits and promote safe work practices.
