Job summary

BTP is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to lead the Mackay workshop, oversee MRC and CRC service teams, and lift safety, productivity and workmanship standards.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will mentor tradespeople and apprentices, manage daily maintenance, rebuilds and repairs, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced mining workshop. This permanent role requires a Heavy Diesel trade qualification and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification with post-trade experience in heavy diesel equipment.
• Supervisory experience in a workshop or mobile equipment environment.
• Strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor tradespeople, Leading Hands and apprentices to deliver safe, quality work.
• Plan, prioritise and coordinate daily maintenance, rebuilds and repairs.
• Drive productivity, monitor labour utilisation and manage costs.
• Champion safety, identify risks and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Develop personnel, conduct performance reviews and build future leaders.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and OEM reps.
• Contribute to operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee workshop performance and ensure timely delivery of services.
