Job summary

BildGroup is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Urban Civil Construction team in Mackay, QLD. You will lead a crew across earthworks, drainage, pavements, landscaping, and site works, setting safety, quality, and productivity standards on site each day.

This hands-on leadership role requires you to work with your crew, directing the day, solving problems, and delivering work you can stand behind. If you take pride in bringing out the best in people, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Leading Hand on civil construction sites.
• Hands-on capability across earthworks, drainage, pavings or sports field construction.
• Strong commitment to safety and leading by example.
• Proven ability to direct, motivate and develop a diverse crew.
• Ability to read site instructions and relay clearly to your crew.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction) prior to start.
• Valid driver’s licence for movement between sites.
• Locally based in Mackay or willing to relocate permanently.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew across civil works ensuring safety, quality and productivity on site.
• Direct day-to-day activities, solve problems on site and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Set high standards for workmanship and supervise adherence to plans and specifications.
• Coach and develop less experienced crew members and maintain positive team dynamics.
