Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Heavy Duty Diesel/Plant Mechanic
• Experience with drill rigs, ideally Schramm rigs
• Proven leadership ability and strong interpersonal communication
• Significant experience with maintenance and breakdown repair of mining equipment
• Advanced hydraulic fault-finding skills
• Rig rebuild experience
• Self-management and a proactive attitude
• Computer literacy and reporting systems
• Commitment to safety, environmental and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate parts required for works and manage goods inwards/outwards
• Mentor apprentices and technicians on the job
• Support daily workshop operations and supervise personnel
• Plan toolbox talks and follow up on actions
• Oversee job progress and liaise with Supervisors to meet timelines
• Maintain registers and assist with reporting/documentation
• Manage branch inventory and align with contract requirements
• Support yard layout and general upkeep
• Foster a collaborative, safety-focused team culture
