Job summary

Redland City Council invites applications for the GIS Spatial Systems Team Leader, a permanent full‑time role overseeing a four‑member GIS team and the enterprise spatial strategy. You will drive ArcGIS Enterprise/Online platforms, data governance and integrations while guiding innovation in cloud GIS, GeoAI and real‑time analytics.

You will partner with Asset Management, Planning and Infrastructure to deliver high‑impact spatial solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading GIS teams and delivering enterprise‑scale solutions.
• Experience developing GIS strategies, technology roadmaps and future‑state architectures.
• Strong expertise with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and contemporary enterprise GIS environments.
• Experience integrating GIS with Technology One or other corporate business systems
• Strong understanding of spatial data governance, authoritative datasets, metadata management, data quality frameworks and information lifecycle management.
• Experience leading modern GIS capabilities including cloud services, web GIS, mobile GIS, real‑time data integration, digital twins, GeoAI and location intelligence solutions.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects using contemporary project management methodologies, including Agile approaches.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills across technical and business audiences.
• Strong understanding of enterprise databases, integrations, APIs and spatial system architectures.
• Ability to prepare strategic reports, business cases, governance documentation and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the GIS Spatial Systems Team.
• Own and deliver the Spatial Strategy and enterprise GIS roadmap.
• Oversee ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related platforms.
• Govern spatial data lifecycles and metadata management.
• Partner with business units to identify spatial opportunities.
• Support critical Council functions with reliable spatial information.
• Lead adoption of GeoAI, digital twins, real-time spatial monitoring.
• Provide strategic and technical leadership across architecture and APIs.
• Manage projects and continuous improvement for GIS capability.
• Develop governance policies and standards.
• Represent Council in industry forums and vendor engagements.
