Job summary

Pair People Pty Limited in Sydney is seeking an experienced Lead Front End Developer to own the frontend delivery of a major finance platform rebuild. You will lead a small team of frontend engineers while remaining close to the code, owning frontend architecture, solution design, and best practices.

You’ll collaborate with UX/UI, engineering, delivery and client stakeholders to turn complex requirements into fast, scalable, polished digital experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong, recent frontend engineering experience with modern frameworks and architectures.
• Proven ability to lead or mentor frontend engineers and set technical direction.
• Experience delivering large-scale frontend platforms and collaborating with UX/UI and backend teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the frontend delivery of a large-scale finance platform rebuild.
• Provide technical direction to a team of frontend engineers, including offshore resources.
• Remain hands-on with React and TypeScript, contributing to production code.
• Own frontend architecture, solution design, and engineering standards.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers across the project.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to translate complex designs into high-quality interfaces.
• Engage with client stakeholders to understand problems and design technical solutions.
• Make decisions around scalability, maintainability, performance, and security.
• Help establish reusable frontend patterns and components.
• Improve web performance via rendering, assets, caching, scripts, and images.
• Utilize Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights to address performance issues.
• Support AI-assisted development within the engineering workflow and CI/CD processes.
