Job summary

AusNet Services Ltd. is seeking a Lead Field Engineer, Primary Plant to help shape the performance and reliability of our transmission network. You will deliver technical advice across assets, lead investigations, and collaborate with internal teams to develop practical solutions for primary plant field assets.

The role emphasizes strategic asset management, stakeholder leadership, and a drive to shape the network with new technologies and smarter working methods.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
• Experience in utility industry with depth and breadth of knowledge up to 500kV.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and lead initiatives to deliver business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Be at the forefront of network reliability, providing critical emergency response support during incidents.
• Drive value by improving performance, risk management and lifecycle strategies of primary plant assets.
• Lead complex engineering investigations and deliver practical solutions to network challenges.
• Provide leadership to liaise with internal stakeholders on engineering issues and programs.
• Assist with development of scopes for refurbishment/repair work and project development.
• Provide expert guidance for field work groups on primary plant and equipment.
