Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland. The role involves leading field engineering efforts, managing materials, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging.
  • Manage material receiving, warehousing and correct material delivery.
  • Lead quantity take‑off, control, reporting and forecasting.
  • Ensure safety and quality control: zero accident philosophy.
  • Coordinate system turnover between Construction and Startup.
  • Review and approve inspection test plans and subcontractor submittals.
  • Lead and supervise construction engineers within the discipline.

Skills

Practical engineering experience in electrical power generation/distribution
Experience with FIFO rosters and travel across Australia
Safety, quality, cost, and outcome focus
Demonstrated leadership in a team‑based environment
Knowledge of single or multi‑discipline construction or engineering operations
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Experience supervising subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce

Project Overview

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Mine Project, a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia, located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world‑class gold and copper mining and development company.

Job Summary

Lead the Electrical and Instrumentation field engineering team for the Eva Copper Mine Project. Responsibilities include work planning, material management, quantity verification, safety & quality control, technical inspection, system turnover coordination, and subcontract coordination.

Major Responsibilities
  • Provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging.
  • Manage material receiving, warehousing and correct material delivery.

  • Ensure safety and quality control: zero accident philosophy, compliance with standards.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Required bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10‑13 years of relevant experience or 14‑17 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with FIFO rosters and travel across Australia.
