Job summary

Australian Facilities Projects, part of the Australian Facilities Group, is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Sydney to own projects from planning through to successful completion. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure delivery to high standards across diverse environments.

You will be responsible for risk, quality, and safety outcomes, maintain client relationships, and provide regular program and financial updates

Qualifications

• Has demonstrated experience managing projects from commencement through to completion.
• Has strong commercial skills.
• Can confidently manage budgets, programs, variations and subcontractors.
• Is highly organised and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Builds strong and professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Is proactive in identifying and resolving issues before they become problems.
• Has a strong understanding of WHS and risk management requirements.
• Is comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a broader team environment.
• Demonstrates strong leadership, accountability and attention to detail.
• Is confident using project management and Microsoft Office systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre-construction/planning through to practical completion and handover.
• Develop and maintain project programs, budgets, forecasts and delivery plans.
• Manage project costs, variations, purchase orders, subcontractor costs and commercial outcomes.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Establish clear project scopes, deliverables, milestones and responsibilities.
• Monitor project progress against agreed programs, budgets and client requirements.
• Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, constraints and opportunities.
• Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout project delivery.
• Prepare and provide regular project status reports, financial updates and forecasts.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, variations, RFIs, meeting minutes, progress claims and handover documentation.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, legislative, WHS and environmental requirements.
• Work closely with the HSEQ team to ensure appropriate safety, compliance and workforce requirements are embedded within projects.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate project stakeholders to maintain momentum and accountability.
• Review subcontractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with agreed scope, quality and program requirements.Identify opportunities for efficiencies, innovation and improved project outcomes.
• Support tendering, estimating and business development activities where required.
• Ensure projects are successfully closed out, including defects, documentation, final accounts and client handover.
