Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist to join our Ground & Underground Engineering Team in Sydney. You’ll bring 5+ years of engineering geology experience and lead site investigations for major infrastructure projects, applying innovative, sustainable approaches to design and delivery.

Key tools include Leapfrog 3D, Dips, RocFall, Slide, Swedge and Unwedge, plus strong collaboration with internal teams and clients to drive technical excellence and reliable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Engineering geology knowledge and site investigations for major infra projects.
• Experience in engineering geological assessments and design for infrastructure.
• Logging and sampling of soil and rock cores, with aerial photo interpretation.

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology
• Experience in engineering geological assessments and design for infrastructure projects
• Experience/exposure in geological mapping, site investigations and detailed logging and sampling of soil and rock core.
• Exposure in aerial photography interpretation.
• Exposure in rock mass classification, slope risk assessments and ground support assessments.
• Ability to work collaboratively both internally within Aurecon and with our clients.
• Good knowledge of use of computers and technical software, including familiarity with programs such as Leapfrog 3D, Dips, RocFall, Slide, Swedge and Unwedge.
