Job summary

WSP's Power & Energy team in Australia is seeking an Associate or Senior Electrical Engineer (EHV) to lead major transmission and substation projects across the country. You'll design and deliver 330kV–500kV substations, mentor engineers, perform technical studies and calculations, and collaborate with clients, utilities and contractors to achieve successful outcomes.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline.
Significant HV/EHV substation project experience in power/utilities/energy sectors.
Experience delivering 330kV–500kV transmission projects.
Hands-on engineering calculations and studies; not only reviewing third-party designs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Lead EHV/HV substation primary design from concept to construction support.
Provide technical direction and mentorship across the Power & Energy team.
Undertake technical studies, design calculations and assessments.
Develop substation layouts, equipment arrangements, specs and design docs.
Support design reviews, construction, commissioning and project delivery phases.
Collaborate with clients, utilities, contractors and stakeholders for successful outcomes.
Contribute to proposals and technical capability initiatives.
Support development of innovative, robust solutions for transmission projects.
