Job summary

Seymour Whyte Constructions in Canberra is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with an electrical civil background to lead critical water infrastructure work on the Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre Upgrade.

You will drive safety culture, manage delivery, coordinate stakeholders, mentor engineers and develop construction programs. This role offers exposure to a landmark project and a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering (civil or electrical) or equivalent.
• Experience as an Electrical Engineer on wastewater or water treatment projects.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic finance systems.
• Knowledge of quality, WHS, environmental and HR/IR procedures.
• Ability to produce SWMS and ITPs for all trades.
• Experience preparing contractual claims and variations.
• Understanding of head and subcontract agreements.
• Ability to develop budgets and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture across all activities and ensure compliance with HSEQ and project plans.
• Manage project delivery, site operations, and resources to meet program targets.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to project teams and mentoring.
• Own project planning, programming, and corrective actions to meet milestones.
• Manage procurement, variations, claims, and cost control.
• Drive quality and compliance with client specs, ITPs, NCRs, and inspections.
• Identify risks and opportunities to maximise performance and profitability.
