Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Lead Electric Propulsion Engineer to provide technical leadership within the Propulsion Design Engineering team for the satellite propulsion system. You will guide design, testing, and manufacturing activities, advising cross-disciplinary engineers on propulsion best practices and contributing to all phases from concept to flight operations.

Qualifications

• Experience creating functional specs, verification plans and test procedures.
• 5+ years of electric propulsion design or testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Influence propulsion system design, development and production lifecycle.
• Lead detailed system performance and risk analyses for design trades.
• Approve non-conformances and design changes within authority.
• Identify technical risks using data from development, production and flight ops.
• Lead or support tests across large vacuum chambers for Hall thrusters.
• Define test plans and requirements to meet objectives.
• Prepare in-flight procedures for novel scenarios and support flight ops.
• Lead root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams.
