Job summary

Queensland Rail Limited is seeking a Design Manager to lead design management across the project lifecycle within the SEQ Project Delivery team. The role focuses on coordinating multi-discipline design teams to deliver complex rail infrastructure solutions that meet safety, quality and performance targets.

The successful candidate will oversee design development, coordinate consultants, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure fully coordinated design packages for tender.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating multi-discipline design teams for complex projects.
• Experience in management of consultants and design agreements.
• Ability to lead design delivery across lifecycle with focus on safety, quality and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and construction planning professionals and manage external resources in project-based teams.
• Provide infrastructure design and planning services through all project stages, meeting KPIs and safety considerations.
• Engage and manage consultants to ensure fully coordinated design across the project.
• Lead design development, reviews, approvals, budget monitoring, scheduling and reporting.
• Support tender and contract activities including vendor selection, tender evaluation, variations and invoicing.
• Plan and deliver a fully coordinated design package with certifications and documentation for tender.
• Ensure compliance with risk, safety, environmental legislation and governance.
• Adhere to Queensland Rail project delivery governance and practices.
