Job summary

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure is seeking a Design Manager to lead design management across tender development through to project delivery in major civil and water infrastructure. Based in Sydney or Melbourne with occasional travel, you will coordinate design consultants, drive engineering excellence and align design with programme and commercial goals.

You will bring a degree in Civil Engineering and at least five years in a design leadership role, with strong civil infrastructure experience

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a Design Manager role or similar engineering leadership.
• Strong experience in civil infrastructure projects, with water infrastructure experience highly regarded.
• Experience supporting tender development and live project delivery.
• Strong understanding of civil design principles, design management practices and the tools, systems and processes that support successful infrastructure project delivery.
• Experience working for a Principal Contractor or construction delivery organisation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Define how design management supports project delivery and our long-term growth.
• Provide design leadership on complex infrastructure projects and ensure design solutions align with project requirements, programme constraints and commercial objectives.
• Align closely with project teams, engineering partners, clients and stakeholders to strengthen design capability across the business.
• Combine office-based design management with project and site involvement to ensure design outcomes align with delivery objectives.
• Travel may be required depending on project requirements.
