Job summary

Beilby Downing Teal in Sydney's Northern Suburbs seeks a Senior Engineer to lead the engineering and design function for formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions, translating enquiries into safe, commercial designs.

You will manage a small design team, review calculations and drawings, support major infrastructure projects, ensure compliance with Australian Standards, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineer (preferably CPEng) and Engineers Australia member.
• Proven experience leading engineering and design teams in construction or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of formwork, shoring, falsework or scaffolding design principles.
• Commercial acumen to develop safe, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management with clients, contractors and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the regional design office and small team of engineers and designers.
• Review and allocate design enquiries, produce and approve calculations and drawings.
• Support the sales team on major infrastructure projects.
• Mentor and develop design staff through training.
