Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead end-to-end QA for enterprise ETL and data platform initiatives in Sydney. The role owns testing strategy, governance, delivery, and continuous improvement of data validation across cloud and legacy ecosystems.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of data pipelines with proven leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery assurance capabilities to drive quality across multiple environments and vendors.

Qualifications

• Extensive QA leadership in ETL, data warehouse, or analytics testing.
• Experience leading multi-system data programs from planning to release.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior partners.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience with Agile, hybrid delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategy, plan, governance, and quality standards for ETL/data programs.
• Lead functional, integration, regression, system, performance testing across the data lifecycle.
• Manage test estimation, resource planning, scheduling, execution, defect management, reporting, and release-readiness.
• Ensure source-to-target validation, transformation-rule verification, data completeness, accuracy, integrity, lineage, and reconciliation.
• Coordinate testing across Amazon Redshift, Fivetran, Databricks, dbt, SAS, and Oracle environments.
• Partner with data engineering, architecture, product, business, operations, and release teams to clarify requirements and mitigate risks.
• Establish traceability between requirements, data mappings, test scenarios, defects, and business outcomes.
• Drive test automation and reusable validation frameworks for pipelines and data-quality controls.
• Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, risk escalation, and resolution tracking with stakeholders.
• Provide clear quality dashboards and executive-level reporting on progress and risks.
• Coach test leads and engineers to promote best practices.
