Job summary

Australian Bank is seeking an experienced Data/ETL QA Lead to drive end-to-end testing for a major transformation program in Australia. You will oversee data migration validation, ETL/DWH testing, and reporting quality across multiple streams, coordinating with business and technology teams to ensure quality objectives are met.

The role requires a strong banking background, hands-on testing experience, and leadership to guide cross-functional teams through ST, SIT, UAT, and production

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading Data/ETL QA programs in banking or financial services.
• Experience delivering large-scale banking transformation and migration programs.
• Hands-on and leadership experience in Data, ETL, DWH, Data Migration, Reconciliation, and Reporting Testing.
• Proven ability to validate complex ETL processes, data transformations, source-to-target mappings, and data interfaces.
• Experience with large-scale data migration testing including reconciliation, completeness, accuracy, integrity, and transformation validation.
• Proven track record validating Enterprise Data Warehouse (DWH) and downstream reporting outputs.
• Ability to define and execute complex reconciliation approaches across data layers.
• Experience developing Test Strategies, Plans, Quality Gate Assessments, Dashboards, and Governance Reporting.
• Extensive Defect, Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management across programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management across multiple teams.

• Coordinate testing across source systems, integration platforms, data warehouses, reporting solutions, and applications.
• Manage System Testing (ST), SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Production Verification, and test governance.
• Define and manage data reconciliation and migration validation activities across multiple systems.
• Identify, track, and mitigate testing risks, issues, data quality concerns, and defects across workstreams.
• Ensure defect governance through triage, prioritization, and resolution coordination.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, vendors, and leadership to meet objectives.
• Provide status updates, quality assessments, and dashboards to program stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional testing teams across multiple delivery streams.

A leading bank in Australia is undertaking a major transformation program involving complex data migration, ETL, Enterprise Data Warehouse (DWH), and reporting solutions. We are looking for an experienced Data/ETL QA Lead with strong banking experience to lead end-to-end data testing, reconciliation, migration validation, ETL/DWH testing, and reporting validation across the program.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Data, ETL, DWH, migration, reconciliation, and reporting testing across complex transformation programs.
• Develop and execute comprehensive Test Strategies, Test Plans, Quality Gates, Dashboards, and Governance Reporting.
• Lead data migration testing, including source-to-target validation, data reconciliation, transformation validation, completeness and accuracy checks.
• Lead validation of ETL pipelines, data transformations, business rules, data interfaces, DWH layers, and downstream reporting.
• Coordinate testing across source systems, integration platforms, data warehouses, reporting solutions, and upstream/downstream applications.
• Manage System Testing (ST), SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Production Verification, and associated test governance.
• Define and manage complex data reconciliation and migration validation activities across multiple systems and data sources.
• Identify, track, and mitigate testing risks, issues, dependencies, data quality concerns, and defects across multiple workstreams.
• Ensure effective defect governance through defect triage, prioritisation, reporting, root-cause coordination, and resolution management.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, data teams, vendors, and program leadership to ensure testing and quality objectives are achieved.
• Provide regular status updates, quality assessments, test metrics, dashboards, and quality gate recommendations to program stakeholders.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional testing teams across multiple delivery streams and releases.

SKILLS

Must have

• 10+ years of experience in Test Management/Test Lead roles, including leadership of complex data and transformation testing programs.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale banking or financial services transformation and migration programs.
• Strong hands-on and leadership experience in Data, ETL, DWH, Data Migration, Reconciliation, and Reporting Testing.
• Strong experience validating complex ETL processes, data transformations, source-to-target mappings, business rules, and data interfaces.
• Proven experience with large-scale data migration testing, including reconciliation, completeness, accuracy, integrity, and transformation validation.
• Strong experience validating Enterprise Data Warehouse (DWH) solutions and downstream reporting outputs.
• Ability to define and execute complex reconciliation approaches across source, staging, transformation, target, and reporting layers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Test Strategies, Test Plans, Quality Gate Assessments, Dashboards, and Governance Reporting.
• Extensive experience in Defect Management, Risk Management, Issue Management, and Dependency Management across complex programs.
• Proven experience managing ST, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Production Verification, and defect governance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capability, including working with business, data, engineering, delivery, and third-party teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to investigate complex data quality, reconciliation, integration, and migration issues.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and program coordination skills with experience leading cross-functional testing teams.
• Ability to manage testing across multiple delivery streams, ensuring alignment of dependencies, risks, quality gates, and program milestones.
• Banking or Financial Services domain experience is mandatory.
