Job summary

Salt is seeking a Lead Data Analyst for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Melbourne. You will lead analytics initiatives across the data and insights function, turning data into compelling narratives that inform senior decision-making.

This senior IC role combines hands-on analytics with stakeholder engagement, mentoring junior analysts and partnering with data engineers to improve data architectures, reporting, and cross‑organisational analytics maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on analytics or similar discipline.
• Strong SQL and relational data experience.
• Experience with Power BI and Qlik.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Investigating datasets to uncover anomalies, trends and hidden insights
• Turning complex analysis into clear, compelling data stories and actionable recommendations
• Partnering with senior stakeholders and adapting your communication style to different audiences
• Proactively identifying business problems where data can make a difference
• Delivering commercial analytics and insights across firm-wide initiatives
• Supporting projects involving HubSpot CRM, Amazon Connect, Workday, SharePoint, Finance and Innovation
• Working closely with Data Engineers and understanding how data architecture and curated data layers support analytics
• Troubleshooting reporting, data relationships, KPIs and underlying issues
• Helping evolve data and analytics best practice across the organisation
• Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior members of the team
