Job summary

Equinix is seeking two Lead Critical Facilities Engineers for our Australian hyperscale site in Sydney. You will own shift operations, mentor junior engineers and ensure safety and operational excellence in a 24/7 environment.

Reporting to the SY9 leadership, you will coordinate with vendors, maintain critical infrastructure systems (UPS, AHU, Chillers), and contribute to site reliability, incident response and continuous improvement through the Global Ops Academy.

Qualifications

• Trade Certified or bachelor’s degree in related Engineering field.
• Strong leadership capability and desire to mentor developing engineers.
• Availability to work in a 24/7 environment (4 on 4 off).
• Commitment to site safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-shift leadership and guidance, including night hours.
• Lead and coordinate maintenance of critical infrastructure (UPS, AHU, Chillers, cooling towers).
• Direct vendors on high-skill tasks and monitor work approval processes.
• Develop, approve and maintain site policies and procedures (MOP/SOP/EOP).
• Support incident response and RCA activities and mentor junior staff.
