Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Data Center Critical Facilities VI (Shift Lead) for its SY9 Australian hyperscale site in Sydney. The role focuses on leading shifts, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring safety, reliability and operational excellence in a 24/7 environment.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, coordinate with the site supervisor, and engage in training programs to raise team capability and SLA performance.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern (4 on, 4 off).
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a team-focused mindset.
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs) and support troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-shift operations, especially during night hours.
• Reduce SLA risk by guiding junior staff across shifts.
• Support the site supervisor and foster a strong, collaborative culture.
• Coordinate with vendors and ensure maintenance work meets standards.
• Contribute to training and upskilling through the Global Ops Academy program.
