IBAC is expanding its Criminal Law team and seeks a Managing Principal Lawyer for a full-time ongoing role. You will lead the legal response on criminal law matters, liaise with the Office of Public Prosecutions, and appear in IBAC's prosecutions as required.

The role requires extensive criminal law experience, management of legal practitioners, and eligibility for a practising certificate. Australian citizenship is required for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Experience in criminal law/prosecutions essential; minimum 10 years post admission preferred.
• A practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law, or eligibility to acquire one.
• Admission to practice as an Australian Lawyer, or eligibility to gain admission.

Responsabilités

• Provide authoritative legal advice to Operations, the Executive Director – Legal & Compliance, the Executive team and the Commissioner on all criminal law matters.
• Build and maintain relationships with the OPP, the courts and other external prosecution agencies; be the key contact on prosecutions.
