Job summary

CBH Group is seeking a Lead – Contracts to join our Commercial team in the Project Delivery Group, based in Perth CBD. You will support contract management for Sustaining Capital and Expansion projects, guiding tenders through to close-out.

You will work with project managers, contractors and internal teams to provide practical commercial advice, promote consistent contract administration and ensure decisions are supported by accurate information and sound judgement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contract management across construction, infrastructure or resource industries.
  • Understanding of tendering, contract formation, administration and progress claims.
  • Ability to assess commercial issues using accurate data and sound judgement.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and shifting priorities.
  • Clear communication to build trusted working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contract management activities across Sustaining Capital and Expansion projects from tender through to close out.
  • Prepare and review tender documents, contract packages, approvals and reporting.
  • Oversee and review progress claims, variations, notices and contract records.
  • Provide guidance to junior contracts team members and wider project teams.
  • Analyse complex contractual matters and provide practical commercial guidance.

The Role

We are looking for a Lead – Contracts to join our Commercial team within the Project Delivery Group.

Based in Perth CBD, this role will support contract management across CBH’s Sustaining Capital, and Expansion projects, supporting the teams from tender through to contract close out.

Working closely with project managers, contractors and internal teams, you will provide practical commercial advice, promote consistent contract administration and help ensure decisions are supported by accurate information, appropriate documentation and sound commercial judgement.

This role will suit an experienced contracts professional who is comfortable working in a fast-moving project environment, managing competing priorities and working through complex commercial matters to achieve practical outcomes.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead contract management activities across CBH Sustaining Capital, and Expansion projects, and support Project Managers from tender through to contract close out.
  • Prepare and review tender documents, contract packages, approvals and reporting.
  • Oversee and review the assessment and administration of progress claims, variations, contractual notices, contract records and supporting documentation with accuracy and care.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the contracts team and wider project teams, promoting consistent and effective contract management practices across the portfolio.
  • Analyse complex contractual and commercial matters by verifying information, identifying risks and providing clear and practical commercial guidance in line with CBH policies and procedures.
About You:
  • Have proven contract management experience, ideally from a contractor-side project perspective across construction, infrastructure or resource industries.
  • A strong understanding of tendering, contract formation and administration, including progress claims, variations, schedules, reporting, close out and the detail required to support contract decisions.
  • The ability to assess commercial issues using accurate data, supporting documentation and sound judgement to make practical recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage shifting priorities and a considered, detail focused approach, supported by a willingness to challenge information, verify assumptions and identify potential risks.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build trusted working relationships and influence practical commercial outcomes.
