Job summary

Sunbury Downs College in Sunbury (Victoria) seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs that achieve specific student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection to improve knowledge and teaching, and contribute to school programs beyond the classroom.

The role may include Range 1 or Range 2 duties, mentoring student teachers, and using data to inform teaching to raise student learning outcomes. Eligibility requires VIT registration and literacy/numeracy standards.

Qualifications

• To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class: the person must have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching; and if the person completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate completion of a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program satisfying standards; a graduate from a Victorian ITE program after 2016 must demonstrate LANTITE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
