Job summary

Stantec in Darwin is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead civil design and documentation on urban, land and subdivision projects across public and private sectors, coordinating disciplines with a multi-disciplinary team. You will drive business development, maintain client relationships, and mentor junior engineers while delivering projects from feasibility through construction.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience (>10 years) in civil engineering design and the delivery of urban development and road design projects.
• Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction
• Project management skills
• Business development skills, local industry knowledge and connections in the market
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to construction
• Prepare technical reports and specifications
• Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects
• Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets
• Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
• Prepare and review proposals, variation estimates and submission documents
• Contribute to the development of Stantec’s knowledge and skills in civil engineering including planning, design, and construction
• Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients
• Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management
• Mentor junior team members
