Job summary

Ark Energy is seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across civil and infrastructure for battery storage, wind, and solar projects. Based in Brisbane, you will coordinate external consultants, ensure design quality, and contribute to feasibility through construction handover.

You will lead safety in design, review deliverables, and support cost estimates, tendering, and construction methods while mentoring the project team in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least seven years’ civil design experience across major infrastructure/renewable energy.
• Experience supporting renewable energy projects.
• Experience leading civil design teams and providing guidance to engineers.
• Strong track record managing external consultants and contractors.
• Design review, assurance and constructability experience.
• Multidisciplinary engineering environment experience.
• Chartered status or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering expertise across roads, foundations, drainage, earthworks, and site platforms.
• Review deliverables from feasibility to handover for quality and constructability.
• Coordinate external civil design consultants and oversee their work.
• Review drawings, calculations, specs, and reports for compliance.
• Lead Safety in Design activities and address risks.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, site assessments, and option studies.
• Define geotechnical investigation needs and review reports.
• Support cost estimates, risk assessments, and construction methodologies.
• Prepare and review scopes of work, specs, and tender docs.
• Assist tender evaluations and consultant/contractor selection.
• Provide construction-phase support including RFIs and design changes.
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical, structural, BESS, and other packages.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to standards improvement.
