Job summary

Studio Enti is a Sydney ceramics studio seeking a Ceramic Production Manager to lead a small production team, oversee all stages from slip-casting to glaze firing, and drive efficient, quality-driven processes. The role blends hands-on making with leadership and systems development in a close-knit studio environment.

You’ll shape daily operations, manage schedules, and collaborate with the owner to support wholesale, retail and custom work, ensuring safety and cleanliness at all times.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing a ceramic production studio.
• 5+ years' hands-on expertise in slip-casting, glazing and firing.
• Proven experience leading and developing a team in a studio.
• Systems thinker who builds and refines processes.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Capable problem-solver improving production efficiency.
• Attention to detail and studio cleanliness.
• Clear verbal and written communicator with suppliers.
• No formal qualification required; hands-on production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, roster and support a small production team.
• Oversee kiln firing schedule and slip-casting systems.
• Manage production scheduling across wholesale, retail and custom.
• Ensure quality across greenware to glaze-fired stages.
• Hands-on production across slip-casting, trimming, glazing.
• Oversee mould upkeep and maintenance.
• Manage materials and inventory with suppliers.
• Uphold cleanliness, safety and WHS compliance.
• Identify issues early and improve systems.
• Communicate with team, owner and external suppliers.
